Stack is a set of ceramic plates placed onto a turned ash bowl. Inside the bowl, two ash strips separate compartments to contain cutlery. For easy transportation and storage of tableware.
Early Development
The beginning involved ideas relating to placemats but idea developed into transporting and grouping silverware and plates.
Making
To making this design, I had learn new techniques involving the lathe. Starting with the set up then roughing out, then defining the exterior and carving out the bowl. It was an intense process requiring patience, an eye for small details and perfectionism.
The slip cast plates were made with a turned plaster mould, designed to be stacked on top of the bowl.
